Job Summary: The Recruiter will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for Nashville and Clarksville hospitals. Responsible for the recruitment of all floor staff, administration team, and middle management positions. Serves as additional administrative and human resources support as needed. 

 

Schedule: 4 Day Work Week/approx. 40 hours per week on-site with remote work as needed.

 

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Partnering with management to determine staffing needs 

  • Facilitate internal transfer/recruiting opportunities 

  • Screening resumes to determine which candidates meet the minimum requirements 

  • Performing phone interviews with potential candidates who advance through the interview process 

  • Schedule on site or virtual interviews with appropriate team members 

  • Managing/maintaining online job postings and NVS/CVES website career page 

  • Follow/keep tabs on the interview process status 

  • Maintains and updates recruiting status spreadsheet 

  • Communicating employer information and benefits during screening process 

  • Work alongside management for job offer/starting pay 

  • Performing reference checks on all potential candidates 

  • Attending career fairs, conferences, community events, and schools for recruiting to generate interest in employment 

  • Coordinating new potential doctor visit schedule, travel plans, and hospital communication 

  • Follow Turnover Metrics and understand/create change to correct 

  • Schedule and prepare new employees for orientation date. Coordinate with other admin team members and trainers 

  • Work with department supervisors to create a new-hire training schedule 

  • Follow up during first 30 with all new hires (completing follow up documentation) to get feedback in introduction to the practice and training  

  • Stay in direct dialogue with management and department supervisor about new-hire feedback/progress 

  • Follow and maintain data, feedback for pay metrics and market analysis for region; give regular feedback to management.  

  • Provides support to admin and human resources team members as needed. 

Student Program Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the technician extern program 

  • Create a department rotation schedule  

  • Create/Perform review process 

  • Give grades/feedback to school 

  • Handle possible recruitment 

  • Scheduling and onboarding of veterinary students requesting externships 

  • Approximately 30 students per year 

 

 

Qualifications:  

  • 1-3 years recruiting experience preferred 

  • Proven work experience within the HR Field; generalist, recruiter, or/other similar role required 

  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations required 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and negotiation skills 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Self-motivated individual who can manage and deliver on multiple projects 

  • Ability to build strong relationship-building skills, finding ways to go the extra mile with clients and partners 

  • High integrity and professionalism 

  • Strong time-management skills and attention to detail 

  • Demonstrated proficiency with office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ATS systems required 

  • Some existing knowledge of animal health/medical field preferred 


Physical/Environmental Requirements: This job classification requires that the applicant be capable of standing continuously for up to four hours with little or no breaks during; sitting; lifting up to 50 pounds; carrying up to 50 pounds; reaching; speaking; seeing; and hearing. This job classification also involves repetitive use of the hands, wrists, and arms. Individuals must be able to meet the minimum dexterity requirements of the position. This position involves a potential for exposure to agents known to cause zoonotic disease in humans and the use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards.
