Key Responsibilities
This role is part of the Marketing & Business Operations team and contributes to the delivery of overall NVA Pet Resort division’s Revenue and EBITDA performance. As an Analyst, Business Operations, you will be responsible for:
Data analysis and insights
- Conduct robust qualitative and quantitative analyses to answer key strategic questions, uncover insights, and drive decision-making. Sources could include, but are not limited to: financial reporting, industry reports, competitive analysis, resort leader interviews, consumer surveys. Synthesize various data sources to tell a compelling narrative and influence decision making.
- Support annual competitive shop and pricing analysis, in partnership with marketing lead, finance and operations, to determine optimal pricing by service line and resort. This may include evaluating various approaches to pricing (e.g., dynamic pricing, promotions, subscription) as well as competition, churn, acquisition costs, operating costs, and customer price elasticities.
- Support monthly and ad hoc insights reports. Produce monthly reporting on key marketing channels and activities, including but not limited to monthly marketing scorecard, campaigns, social media.
- Track competitor, industry, and market trends to identify new opportunities, refine offerings, and keep NVA Pet Resorts team informed on a regular and timely basis. Produce annual competitor strategy report as well as monthly news digests.
- Participate in integrated marketing planning processes by contributing insights that help inform content calendars, campaign prioritization, media spend allocation, and test plans.
- Conduct scenario modeling to help evaluate trade-offs between media channels, timing, and promotional strategies.
- Synthesize brand health trends to help assess NVA Pet Resorts’ positioning relative to competitors.
- In partnership with the Integrated Marketing Campaign Manager, support the development and optimization of marketing offers, discounts, and promotions by evaluating historical performance, customer behavior, and profitability.
- Collaborate with operations, marketing, and analytics teams to develop annual and ad hoc consumer surveys. Analyze customer survey data, reviews, and social listening insights to help marketing refine messaging, creative direction, and positioning.
- Partner with field operations to develop competitive tracking strategies to maintain regular and responsive competitive intelligence.
Strategy
- Contribute to the development of NVA PR’s corporate strategy, focusing on 3–5 year plans, annual planning, and solving key business challenges. Support strategic planning by conducting scenario analyses and recommending actionable initiatives.
- Serve as a connector, synthesizing insights to drive strategic impact. Make recommendations in collaboration with marketing and operational teams.
- Own Total Addressable Market (TAM) analyses to identify growth areas and strategic investments.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability while serving as a role model for NVA PR’s values, promoting results-driven work, inclusivity, and continuous learning.
Qualifications:
This role requires a mix of strategic vision, analytical rigor, leadership skills, and adaptability to thrive in an ever-evolving company:
- Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills, financial acumen, ability to analyze complex data, and translate insights into actionable strategies. Excel whiz and experience with SQL, PowerBI, or other data/statistical tools is beneficial.
- Communication & Influence: Ability to craft narratives from data, communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to build trust and buy-in, and develop materials for an executive audience. You have strong executive presence, written and verbal skills, and can readily articulate, present and debate recommendations with all levels of the organization while maintaining composure.
- Adaptability & Collaboration: Comfortable balancing long-term goals with immediate deliverables. Proven track record of managing multiple projects, working cross-functionally, and excelling in fast-paced environments with minimal oversight. Experience with project management is beneficial. A team player who fosters strong partnerships.
- Personal Traits: Highly proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure to meet complex deadlines. A curious self-starter with a bias toward action, problem-solving, and strong interpersonal skills. Responsive to feedback and strives for continuous professional development.
- Experience & Education: 2 or more years of experience in business operations, corporate strategy, consulting, finance, banking, marketing analytics, or related industry/function. Experience working with or supporting integrated marketing, lifecycle marketing, or customer experience teams is a bonus. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Bachelor’s Degree.
