🐾 Calling All Superstar LVT Leaders – Assistant Hospital Manager Position Open! 🐾

 

Poquoson Veterinary Hospital (AAHA-accredited, 4-doctor, small animal + exotics practice) is growing, and we need an exceptional Assistant Hospital Manager / Licensed Veterinary Technician who’s ready to wear two hats: rock-solid clinical wizard AND inspiring team leader!

 

This is not an “office-only” management job — you’ll stay hands-on with patients while helping steer the ship and keep our hospital running like a well-oiled (and very happy) machine.

 

What You’ll Do (and Love!):

**Clinical Side (because you became a tech for a reason!)**  

- Anesthesia monitoring, surgical assisting, dental prophy & radiography  

- In-house lab work, digital & dental radiology, ultrasound assistance  

- Patient treatments and lots of cuddles with dogs, cats, rabbits, reptiles, and birds  

 

**Leadership & Management Side**  

- Keep the daily flow smooth and the team smiling  

- Help build schedules, train new rockstars, and cheer everyone on  

- Jump into performance coaching and career development conversations  

- Partner with the Hospital Manager and doctors on budgeting, inventory, and smart cost controls  

- Be the go-to problem-solver for staff and clients alike  

- Champion our positive, drama-free culture and help us get even better every day  

- Handle client concerns with grace and turn them into raving fans  

 

Who You Are:

- Virginia Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) strongly preferred OR a highly experienced veterinary assistant with proven leadership skills  

- Confident in all core technical skills (anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, lab, radiology)  

- Natural leader who leads by example and lifts everyone up  

- Organized, communicative, and cool under pressure  

- Passionate about mentorship and watching your team grow  

- Bonus points: previous supervisory or management experience  

 

Schedule: Full-time, primarily weekdays with rotating Saturdays. No on-call!
