Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly pay range: $29.00 – $34.00 per hour, dependent upon experience

  • Eligible for quarterly performance-based bonuses tied to hospital performance

We are seeking a motivated, trustworthy, and growth-oriented Assistant Hospital Manager (AHM) to support our Hospital Manager and Managing DVM in daily operations, team leadership, and client experience.


Position Overview

The Assistant Hospital Manager plays a key leadership role in hospital operations, people management, and client service. This position is ideal for someone ready to grow into leadership while remaining hands-on in the hospital.

This is an hourly position with a hybrid schedule:

  • 2 administrative/leadership days

  • 2 floor-based veterinary assistant shifts


Key Responsibilities

Client Experience & Communication

  • Model and reinforce exceptional client service standards

  • Resolve client concerns, escalations, and service recovery

  • Oversee client follow-up communication

  • Champion Paw Plans through team education and consistent promotion

Leadership & People Management

  • Support recruiting and interviewing in partnership with the Hospital Manager

  • Own onboarding, training, and ongoing support of new hires

  • Coach, mentor, and support team members

  • Participate in corrective conversations and disciplinary documentation alongside the HM

  • Help conduct performance evaluations

Operations & Administration

  • Manage nightly deposits and cash handling procedures

  • Oversee AllyDVM communications, reminders, and local marketing initiatives

  • Support inventory management in tandem with the Inventory Manager

  • Perform quality control audits of client files and medical records (SOAPs, VA notes, FAS scores)

  • Monitor Avimark and hospital systems; coordinate with IT as needed

  • Assist with staff meeting preparation and hospital projects

Culture & Growth

  • Act as a day-to-day culture leader

  • Promote accountability, professionalism, and teamwork

  • Support hospital initiatives related to growth, efficiency, and client engagement

Qualifications

Required

  • Veterinary experience in a CSR, VA, LVT, or supervisory role

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Teams, Excel)

  • Experience or willingness to learn practice management software (Avimark preferred)

Preferred

 

  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience

  • Experience with AllyDVM or client communication platforms

  • Familiarity with AAHA standards and Fear Free principles
