Associate Veterinarian

Central Nova Animal Hospital

Job Description

DVM Opportunity – Where Personality Counts More Than Perfection
Central Nova Animal Hospital | Truro, Nova Scotia

At Central Nova Animal Hospital, we’re not looking for the “perfect” vet. We’re looking for the right person—someone who’s collaborative, kind, and genuinely wants to be part of a team that has each other’s backs.

We’re a well-established, 7-DVM practice located in the heart of Truro, Nova Scotia. Our clinic has been a trusted part of the community for years, and our team is known for being supportive, fun, and genuinely passionate about what we do.

What Makes Us Different?

  • We hire for personality first. We can teach surgical skills and sharpen medical knowledge—but we can’t teach attitude. If you’re someone who jumps in to help, laughs with your team, and treats every patient like your own pet, you’ll fit right in.

  • We welcome new grads. Nervous? That’s okay. We’ve mentored plenty of early-career vets, and our experienced team (including a DVM who does orthopedics and would love to mentor) is here to support you every step of the way.

  • We’re invested in your growth. Want to learn orthopedics? Pursue a special interest? We’re all for it. You’ll have the flexibility and mentorship to carve out a path that fits you.

What You’ll Love About Truro

Truro is a hidden gem—small-town charm with all the essentials. It’s a place where you can actually afford a house, get to know your neighbours, and still be just an hour from Halifax and beaches, trails, and outdoor adventures in every direction.
