Job Description

Aurora Animal Hospital in Centennial, CO is seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian to join our team! 

Aurora Animal Hospital is an established AAHA accredited small animal general practice with a loyal clientele from the surrounding affluent neighborhoods still experiencing steady growth. We are partnered with National Veterinary Associates but all management is handled on a local level by the DVM that are partial owners. 

The practice is a spacious modern facility with 8 exam rooms, a comfort room, a dedicated surgery suite, large treatment area, digital radiography, ultrasonography, dental table with digital dental radiography, etc. We are primarily a general practice for dogs and cats including wellness care, urgent care, hospitalization, surgery, dentistry, acupuncture, therapeutic class IV laser, palliative care, humane euthanasia. 

We also offer urgent care services in addition to general practice. Several of our doctors serve a large exotics client base including small mammals, reptiles and birds. We partner with a mobile boarded surgeon, mobile boarded radiologist, and mobile boarded cardiologist who are available at our facility regularly and several referral/ER hospitals in close proximity.

As a busy practice we have a high ratio of support staff to doctors with a tiered training protocol to ensure competent, qualified technicians and assistants. Ideal candidate will possess excellent client communication, compassion, practices quality medicine, and has great time management skills. 

30 minute appointments and almost paperless system using Avimark with texting option through AllyDVM. Base salary plus production, no negative accrual. 

Benefits:

CE, license fees, 2 weeks PTO, AVMA dues, PLIT, health insurance, DEA, 401k, etc. Experience  with reptiles and birds is very desirable but not required. A DVM interested in medicine appointments only (no surgery/dentistry) also desirable. Scheduled shifts will be Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and rotating weekend shifts 1-2 times monthly, no on call. Will consider part time.

      Skills and Basic Qualifications

        Certified Feline Friendly
        Fear Free Approach when possible
        Class IV Laser therapy
        Ultrasound and Board Certified Radiologist and Cardiologist availability
        Surgery including Board Certified Surgeon availability
        In-house laboratory and pharmacy
        State of the art surgical monitoring only performed by RVT
        Dental table with digital dental radiography
        Ultrasonography
        Digital radiography
        Dedicated surgery suite and large treatment area
        Clean modern facility with 8 exam rooms and comfort room
        Presents a positive image of the hospital in the professional community and to the general public.
        Assists in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service. Stays current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine.
        Maintains client/patient medical/surgical records and makes certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols.
        Communicates with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs.
        Performs physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort. Builds rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to, and empathizing with their concerns
        Minimum 1 year experience required
        Commitment to ongoing educational development and growth
        Models a professional and courteous manner with staff and clients.
        Manages time and tasks appropriately.
        Makes decisions confidently and effectively.
        Works collaboratively with hospital team members.
        Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
        Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding veterinary code of ethics.
        Licensure in good standing to practice in the state in which applicant is to be employed.
        A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or related degree from an accredited university.

         Competitive annual base salary for fulltime: 100,000-140,000 plus production based on experience.
