About Us:

Our Camp experience is all about the dogs having fun, socializing, burning off energy, and being treated as if they are our own pets. Our clients look forward to updates about their pet’s camp experience, getting craft projects sent home, and hearing about events going on in camp. Valley day camp is their home away from home.

Valley Animal Hospital has been serving the community since 1992. Our 8 doctor, AAHA Accredited, full service, state of the art animal hospital is committed to educating clients on how to keep their pets healthy year-round. We care for a variety of species including common household pets such as cats and dogs, but also, birds, ferrets, guinea pigs, hedgehogs, rodents, reptiles, and more! We stay on top of the latest advances in veterinary technology and above all, remember that all animals and pets need to be treated with loving care in every Camp experience, check-up, procedure, and surgery.

What to Expect:

·         The Camp Experience: During Camp our campers experience group play with their canine friends, water play with pools and water hoses when weather allows, playing with toys when able, pets and cuddles from Camp staff, and even crafts and special events such as Camper Birthday Parties.

About You:

·         You are Experienced with the Camp (group play) environment and understand canine behavior.

·         You are Creative and enjoy looking for new ideas to make our camp experience the best it can be.

·         You understand the importance of maintaining a positive, respectful, uplifting hospital culture and genuinely love working with, mentoring, and coaching people that share that same value.

·         You understand that clear, effective communication with clients and team members is a priority.

·         You enjoy interacting and building relationships with clients and genuinely want to make a difference for campers, patients, and their families.

·         You are eager to continue enhancing your skill set and enjoy learning & collaborating with a team.

Duties include but are not limited to:

·        Monitoring group play sessions for dogs (outdoor and indoor environments)

·         Setting up outdoor play experiences for dogs

·         Cleaning up play yards after group sessions

·         Speaking with pet parents about their dog’s experiences at camp

·         Basic laundry, cleaning/sanitation of indoor spaces

·         Bathing dogs

·         Answering phones related to camp

·         2-4 weekday shifts per week and some weekend availability on a rotating basis is necessary

Schedule:

 Part time - 15-20 hours/ week

·         Full time – 30-40 hours/ week 

o    11-hour shifts with 1 to 1.5-hour lunch break

o   Closed on Sundays
