Job Description
The Veterinary Technicians assists the veterinarian with office visits and exams, and helps maintain the hospital facility, keeping it neat and clean and if certified, monitoring anesthesia.

An employee in this position must have a sense of caring for animals, be able to lift approximately 50 pounds.
Essential Functions
· Provide compassionate care for pets
· Restrain pets for veterinarians
· Assist in setting up and taking of x-rays
· Monitor and collect urine and fecal samples as needed
· Monitor, record, and report physical signs of hospitalized patients
· Clean cages, runs, and/or hospital facilities, including exam rooms, treatment room
· Prepare, centrifuge, and read a PCV/TS sample, as well as collect and submit samples.
· Properly perform a SNAP heartworm test
· Accurately perform UA dipstick test
· Demonstrate proper phone etiquette
· Demonstrates ability to schedule appointments
· Demonstrate appropriate triage skills
· Demonstrates appropriate patient check in
· Demonstrates appropriate interaction with clients
· Documents correct information on patient records
· Performs nail trims on canine/felines
· Can accurately pull up IV medication
· Can administer SQ injections
