Customer Service Representative

Job Summary

In addition to the responsibilities outlined below, the Customer Service Representative is an invaluable member of the hospital team who works directly with members of all departments within the hospital to ensure we are providing our clients with the best possible experience and our patients with the best veterinary care.

Job Responsibilities

·         Responsible for booking all procedures, general practice appointments, rehabilitation, grooming, lodging and daycare appointments

·         Responsible for answering all incoming phone calls

·         Responsible for checking in all guests appropriately in to EzyVet and Smartflow when appropriate

·         Complete all lodging and grooming paperwork

·         Checking hospital email throughout the day

·         Responding to client requests via email in a timely manner

·         Scheduling appointments

·         Partnering with technician or doctor to answer client’s medical questions if necessary or appropriate

·         Responding to local RDVM requests via email in a timely manner

·         Monitoring text platforms throughout the day and responding to clients incoming messages in a timely manner

·         Print and call rechecks

·         Print and make ARC’s

·         Call clients when care of remains are back in hospital

Skills and Basic Qualifications

·         Along with a positive attitude and a high degree of energy, excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary

·         Ability to effectively handle and defuse upset clients.

·         Must be able to handle the physical and emotional aspect of work in a full service veterinary hospital environment.

·         Models a professional and courteous manner with staff and clients.

·         Commitment to ongoing educational development and growth.

·         Must have active listening, critical thinking, complex problem solving, time management, judgment and decision making skills.

·         Must enjoy working in a fast pace environment

·         2 to 5 years’ customer service experience preferred

·         Experience in a medical environment preferred

 

Schedule

·         Full Time consists of 4 day work week, 10 hour shifts

·         Holidays

·         Night & Weekend Shifts Required

Compensation:

·         Customer Service Representative are hourly employees

·         Base hourly rate of $17.00-$20.00

·         All employees (FT or PT) are eligible for quarterly profit sharing bonuses
