Role Summary
The Director of Marketing is a senior leader responsible for building and scaling a data-driven marketing engine that drives brand awareness, customer acquisition, and retention across NVA Pet Resorts’ multi-brand portfolio. This role sets marketing strategy, leads and develops a high-performing team, and partners closely with Operations, Finance, IT, and enterprise stakeholders to deliver measurable growth.
As a member of the Pet Resorts Leadership Team, this role owns marketing KPIs that directly impact divisional revenue and EBITDA. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, strong people leader, and hands-on operator with deep full-funnel marketing experience and a proven track record of results in a fast-paced, multi-unit environment.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Leadership & Accountability
- Own Pet Resorts’ overall marketing, growth, and retention strategy across all channels and customer touchpoints
- Set marketing priorities, roadmap, and resourcing to support annual and multi-year growth goals
- Own marketing KPIs, dashboards, budget, and ROI optimization
- Serve as the voice of marketing on the Pet Resorts Leadership Team
- Use data and insights to guide decisions, prioritize initiatives, and report performance to executive stakeholders
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of marketing managers and their teams
- Set clear goals, performance standards, and accountability
- Hire, retain, and develop high-performing talent
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and results
Strategy & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner with Operations, Finance, IT, Analytics, and enterprise teams to deliver full-funnel marketing plans that drive same-store growth, acquisition, and retention
- Collaborate with executive leadership on go-to-market strategy, pricing, positioning, and offerings
- Share learnings and best practices across NVA business units
Brand, Demand & Customer Experience Oversight
- Brand & Campaigns: Ensure consistent, on-brand messaging and campaigns across all channels and +40 brands; oversee creative development, promotional calendars, partnerships, and crisis communications
- Demand Generation: Lead acquisition strategy, media mix, and performance optimization to drive efficient growth; oversee planning models, pricing strategy, and competitive and consumer insights. Accelerate De Novos ramp time to break even more quickly via emphasizing demand gen in these sites
- Customer Experience & Retention: Own website, digital experience, loyalty, referral, and membership strategies; optimize conversion across the customer journey through testing and experimentation
Marketing Technology & Insights
- Oversee marketing technology stack, tools, and processes to improve scalability and efficiency
- Leverage consumer insights, analytics, and market trends to inform strategy and decision-making
- Partner with enterprise teams to adopt and scale shared platforms and tools
Specific Focus Areas in 2026
- Develop industry-leading loyalty program, partner with Tech team on app development, and influence a seamless customer experience
- Ensure measurement and optimization of paid media spend, specifically leading the team to evaluate and evolve the media matrix to maximize ROMI/ROAS for agreed upon metrics.
- Continue well-developed customer acquisition and lead generation programs, including evaluating promotional effectiveness to attract best customers at lowest cost
- Cultivate focus on customer retention via overseeing the development of robust lifecycle marketing tactics as well as developing audience segmentation to define highest value clients and lifetime value
- Depending on broader NVA enterprise direction and timing, develop approach to GP/Ethos partnerships to elevate the continuum of care for NVA clients
Qualifications
Required
- 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, with 3–5+ years leading and developing teams
- Experience owning multi-channel marketing strategies and budgets
- Strong business, analytical, and financial acumen with a data-driven mindset
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into execution and results
- Excellent communication and executive stakeholder management skills
- Bachelor’s degree
Preferred
- Experience with marketing technology platforms and analytics tools
- Experience in services, hospitality, or pet-related industries

Location: Remote (U.S.)
Travel: ~10–15%
Compensation: The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $170,000 and is based on applicable experience.
