Director, Clinical Strategy & Standards
Job Summary
This position reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer of NVA General Practice and is part of the GP Medical Team. The role involves working across the NVA GP community to create cross-functional teams that aid in developing and implementing training, fostering a positive culture, establishing standards of care, and providing input on key initiatives for the organization.
The Director will work closely with our field and hospital leadership teams to:
Evaluate hospital sites using metrics around medical care and standards, customer experience, and hospital culture.
Coordinate stakeholder collaboration and obtain buy-in for the creation and implementation of medical and cultural standards.
Provide or facilitate training when necessary to elevate hospitals.
Determine metrics to measure compliance and success for entire veterinary teams.
In collaboration with legal, maintain OSHA and DEA compliance.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Hospital Oversight: Standards of Care and Culture
Uphold the standards of hospital and medical care, along with advancing a positive culture, which is fundamental to our organization.
Create and execute a framework to advance, monitor, and correct course the medical standards practiced across the network of hospitals.
Develop medical standards alongside the Medical Advisory Board (MAB).
Develop corresponding standard operating procedures and templates (post-surgical discharges, consent forms, etc.)
Collaborate on NVA GP Initiatives
The Director will represent the medical team and provide valuable input across the GP community on key initiatives as assigned by the CMO, including but not limited to:
Head of the Peer Review Committee.
Wellness – Liaison to the Medical Advisory Board and the NVA GP Wellness Team.
Development of technical advancements – including PIMS, teletriage, and home delivery.
Requirements:
Former hospital owner or MDVM with a minimum of 10 years as a DVM and an impeccable reputation for practicing medicine.
Preference for experience with the AAHA accreditation process.
Capable of building a cross-functional strategy that is executed through defined actions.
Must have strong writing skills – will be creating SOPs and medical templates
Strong coaching and assessment abilities for new and experienced DVMs to enhance the quality of care and medical standards.
Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to foster partnerships across functions and roles.
Analytical acumen focused on leveraging data for continuous compliance improvement and reporting program metrics, including accomplishments and areas for improvement.
Extremely strong organizational and planning skills to manage multiple initiatives and engagements simultaneously.
Willingness to travel up to 30-40%.
Training will last up to 2 months and involve up to 60% travel during that time.
Base pay of $170-$190k, with an AIP target opportunity of 20%.
