Job Description
JOB TITLE: Director, Compensation – NVA
REPORTS TO: VP HR – NVA GP
JOB SUMMARY:
Director, Compensation is responsible for the design and implementation of compensation plans and programs that attract and retain talent and drive business results as well as align with organization culture and philosophy. This role will develop, implement, and evaluate NVA’s compensation programs, including base pay, incentive pay, and performance management programs. Collaborates with senior leadership to ensure that compensation strategy and programs support the business objectives. This role provides subject matter expertise and guidance to leaders and HR Business partners regarding compensation recommendations, strategy, administration, procedures and policies, and communication. Successful candidate must thrive in ambiguous context and must be a self starter with management skills in a matrix organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Compensation:
• Lead the development and implementation of compensation programs based on external information and internal analytics and practices.
• Own and execute on key compensation initiatives in support of NVA with internal stakeholders which may include Job Leveling, Pay Structure review, Compensation Roadmap, merit and annual bonus process
• Implement and enhance solutions, guidelines and governance processes related to compensation
• Partner with key stakeholders and Head of HR to establish short – medium - and long-term Compensation priorities
• Co-create Compensation solutions with the Head of HR and/or key HR stakeholders
• Define and lead governance processes related to compensation
• Drive continuous improvement in compensation processes impacting the NVA population
• Continually explore external trends and best practices to ensure current solutions are best in class, up to date and compliant
• Support all benchmarking and compensation analysis requests
Data Management
• Sets strategy around short and long-term compensation data requirements
• Lead and direct various data collection processes and analytics for key compensation initiatives
• Actively research and provide comprehensive data driven insights to support the design and implementation of innovative, cost effective and market competitive compensation programs
Documentation/Communication:
• Create and maintain compensation process documentation
• Develop and implement communication/training materials to educate key HR stakeholders and employees on all compensation related programs
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant areas (e.g., HR, Statistics, Business)
• Deep understanding of compensation programs
• Proficient in handling and analyzing large amounts of data
• High level of attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to work interdependently
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working directly with senior leaders
• Manage, mentor and develop a team of compensation professionals in a matrix organization
• Experience in veterinary, health care, or consulting industries is a plus
Compensation: The base salary range is between $170,000-$190,000 and eligible for both short term and long term incentives.
