Emergency Veterinarian

Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital

Job Description

Ready to trade stress for stunning mountain views, endless recreation, and a hospital where you can thrive? We’ve got a spot for you — and we’re offering a FREE year of housing to help make your Tahoe move happen!

At Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital, you’ll find the rare combination of cutting-edge medicine, a 60+ year legacy of community trust, and the freedom to build a deeply fulfilling career in one of the most breathtaking places in the country. Our 15,000 sq. ft. AAHA-accredited hospital is home to a talented, 14-doctor team, advanced technology including a brand-new CT scan machine, and a positive, collaborative culture that makes coming to work feel like a win every day.

We’re looking for a veterinarian to deliver top-tier emergency and urgent carewithout overnights — to the Tahoe community. Here, you can enjoy a balanced 4-day workweek, unlimited earning potential, and the chance to live where others vacation. Our veterinarians each produce an average of $1M+ annually, with some exceeding $2M.

The Opportunity:
This role is perfect for a veterinarian who’s ready to relocate for lifestyle and growth, thrives on variety (from urgent cases to complex surgeries), values strong peer collaboration, and wants the time and flexibility to enjoy everything Tahoe has to offer outside of work.

Our Resources:
Our resources include a 15,000 sq. ft. facility with 21 exam rooms, multiple surgery suites, separate dental suites, a brand-new CT scan machine, digital and dental radiology, ultrasound, full IDEXX in-house laboratory, therapeutic laser, endoscopy, and a dedicated 3:1 support staff ratio (including licensed veterinary technicians). You’ll be part of a dynamic, 14-doctor team and a supportive management group committed to your success.

The Lifestyle:
The Tahoe area is where mountain air meets modern convenience. You’ll have world-class skiing, boating, hiking, and fishing at your doorstep — plus a community that blends small-town connection with easy access to big-city amenities. Whether you’re into powder days, paddleboarding, mountain biking, or simply soaking up the alpine scenery, this is a place to put down roots and truly enjoy life. And with no state income tax, the move is even sweeter.

Compensation and Benefits:
FREE YEAR of HOUSING!
$150,000–$170,000 starting base salary (depending on experience)
21% and up production bonus, paid monthly (depending on experience)
The average gross production per doctor is $1M annually, with some exceeding $2M
Exact compensation will be based on skills, experience, and schedule

Time Off:
