Emergency Veterinarian - San Antonio

MissionVet Specialty + Emergency

Job Description

MissionVet Specialty + Emergency is in search of a self-motivated, part-time or full-time Emergency Veterinarian who excels in multi-tasking and strives for excellence in patient care, client experience, and comprehensive communication to join its growing team!

About the Role

We are interested in speaking with experienced ER DVMs, internship trained DVMs, and new grads or GP DVMs who have an interest in emergency medicine. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate exceptional teamwork and communication skills and the desire to build strong relationships with referring veterinarians.

ER Mentorship is available! Our mentorship program combines clinical training with our experienced emergency veterinarians (to include shadowing and primary case responsibility with increasing acuity level) and rotations with boarded specialists, as well as online didactic learning and CE.

Our emergency clinicians also have the opportunity to perform emergency surgeries if desired. If you have a passion for surgery, we will help foster and strengthen it with hands-on training. Do you prefer to refer surgeries and focus on receiving? Our surgery department has got you covered!

To further support our emergency team and our patients, we have recently implemented ER Express to help streamline the flow of receiving. We have also rolled out our Intermediate Care department to see lower acuity cases and allow the ER DVM on shift to focus on the more critical cases coming in.

What makes MissionVet unique

At MissionVet, we strive to function as a cohesive team, providing mentorship, continuing education and consultations within the hospital in order to work through even the toughest cases. The emergency service is directly supported by all specialty services, and specialists are on call for after-hours emergencies.

  • Internal Medicine

  • Critical Care

Cutting edge techniques such as minimally invasive surgery and advanced diagnostics such as 16-slice CT, MRI, ultrasound, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, cytology and bronchoscopy help us ensure that we are giving our patients the best chances for a positive outcome.

We take pride in not only delivering world-class medicine but also taking time to educate clients about their pet’s condition to ensure that they are making informed decisions about their loved one's health. MissionVet is committed to a servant leadership approach.
