We are currently seeking Emergency Doctors to join our team at Animal Emergency & Referral Associates (AERA) in West Caldwell, New Jersey!



About Us:

Founded as an after-hours emergency clinic in 1977, AERA is now a 45,000 square foot, 24/7 state-of-the-art hospital with a strong Emergency Service team and specialists in Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, Radiation Oncology, and Surgery.  Take a video tour of our facility here


Our tenured support staff includes a team of dedicated ICU nurses, laboratory staff, and pharmacy technicians, some of which have been with AERA for decades.



The Role:

Our Emergency Doctors manage inpatient cases, triage incoming patients, and handle lacerations, basic wounds, urinary obstructions and enucleations.  Our doctors also have the option to cut and can train in surgery, if they’re interested!  


The Schedule:

  • Three 12-hour shifts per week, rotating shifts
  • Shifts are: 8AM – 8PM, 12PM – 12AM and 8PM – 8AM
  • Includes an average of two weekends per month and four holidays per year

Veterinarians who are interested in research can work with our Ethos Discovery team to participate in the planning and facilitation of clinical trials.


Emergency Veterinarians that are interested in advancing their career and obtaining certification through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) can participate in our flexible non-residency path to diplomate status through ER ABVP Guided Program.

 

ER ABVP Guided Program - The ER ABVP Guided program is tailored for individuals seeking structured guidance to achieve board certification as a generalist. This program offers two tailored options that meet you where you are, allowing you to reach your emergency career goals without the need for an internship. Ideal for all emergency practitioners looking to deepen their expertise in emergency practice, these paths let you stay in your current hospital, enjoying full wages and benefits while pursuing board certification.
