We are currently seeking Emergency Doctors at Animal Emergency & Referral Associates (AERA) in West Caldwell, NJ.
About Us:
Founded as an after-hours emergency clinic in 1977, AERA is now a 24/7 state-of-the-art hospital with a strong Emergency Service team and specialists in Anesthesiology, Dentistry, Internal Medicine, Radiation Oncology, Rehabilitation, and Surgery. Our hospital had outgrown its old location and has moved into a brand new, beautiful 45,000 square foot facility in December 2021, just down the road from our old location. Check it out here.
Our Emergency Doctors manage inpatient cases and triage incoming patients as well as lacerations, basic wounds, urinary obstructions and enucleations. They have the option to cut if they're interested and we will also provide training in surgery, if doctors are interested! Our support staff includes dedicated ICU nurses, laboratory staff, and pharmacy technicians.
Schedule:
Our Emergency Doctors work a rotating schedule, consisting of three 12 hours shifts per week. Shifts include day shifts, swing shifts, and overnight shifts. An average of two weekends per month and 4 holidays per year.

Emergency Veterinarians that are interested in advancing their career and obtaining certification through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) can participate in our flexible non-residency path to diplomate status through ER ABVP Guided Program.
