Medical Director – SAGE Redwood City

SAGE Redwood City is seeking an experienced Medical Director to lead a thriving, high-volume hospital where you can make a meaningful impact on patient care and team development. This role is ideal for a confident, visionary leader ready to inspire a dynamic team, elevate clinical standards, and guide the hospital’s continued growth.

 

Your Role

As Medical Director, you will balance strategic leadership with hands-on clinical care. You will:

  • Oversee medical standards, protocols, and quality initiatives
  • Partner with the Hospital Director on operations, recruitment, and long-term planning
  • Working with the Assistant Medical Director, you will guide and support both ER and specialty doctors while helping to establish new house officer and ER Immerse mentorship programs
  • Drive positive change, support team development, and maintain a collaborative, accountable culture
  • Strengthen relationships with referring veterinarians and the local community
  • Duty split: ~75% administrative / ~25% clinical
    • 4 day workweek with 3 admin days and 1 clinical day
 

What We’re Looking For

  • DVM or equivalent; eligible for California licensure
  • 5+ years of clinical experience in a multi-specialty hospital with 2+ years in a leadership role
  • Strong leadership skills with confidence in change management and addressing complex issues
  • Passion for mentorship, professional development, and medical excellence
  • Solutions-oriented, collaborative, and decisive
