Job Description


Atlantic Equine Services is seeking qualified applicants for an equine sports medicine fellowship beginning in the summer of 2025. This is an intensive hands-on opportunity for additional exposure to lameness diagnosis and treatment. Out-of-state travel is required with housing provided.


We are an equine sports medicine practice, providing services at the farm as well as at horse shows. Services include lameness examinations, pre-purchase exams, consultations with referring veterinarians, maintenance of performance horses, as well as providing primary care at horse shows.


We are a progressive sports medicine practice, utilizing the latest in digital diagnostic equipment and treatment modalities. We are currently a five-doctor practice, including board certified specialists in surgery (ACVS), sports medicine and rehabilitation (ACVSMR), as well as internal medicine (ACVIM-LA). We offer our clients a full array of diagnostic tools (Digital radiography, Digital Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Gastroscopy, Lameness locator) as well as cutting edge treatment options, including regenerative therapies (bone marrow derived stem cells, PRP, PROSTRIDE, IRAP, A2M) ECSWT, Artemis laser therapy, Functional Electrical Stimulation therapy (FES). Elective surgeries are performed on client horses at various regional facilities.


Candidates will be involved in Journal Clubs and in prospective and retrospective clinical research projects with opportunity for authorship in publications.


We are seeking candidates who have already completed a one-year general equine internship. The position is suitable for individuals who are looking to enter sports medicine private practice or for those wishing to enter advanced residency training. The candidate will be working throughout the northeast from April – November and will be based in Wellington, Florida from November – March. They should be eligible for NH, MA, CT and FL licenses.
