We’re looking for a dedicated Equine Veterinarian to join our respected team, with a primary focus on providing high-quality care at Delaware Park Racetrack. This role offers immediate involvement in a fast-paced, high-performance environment with the flexibility to pursue broader clinical interests beyond the track.


About Us

Established in 1993, Equine Veterinary Care is a six-doctor practice providing ambulatory and outpatient services to a diverse clientele. We offer state-of-the-art diagnostics and treatments, specializing in sports medicine, soundness evaluations, digital imaging, pre-purchase exams, respiratory care, colic management, wound care, and elective outpatient surgical procedures. Our team serves horses at Delaware Park Racetrack and Fair Hill Training Center, located in the heart of the MidAtlantic thoroughbred racing circuit comprised of DE, MD, NY, NJ, PA, VA, WV.


At Delaware Park, you’ll be part of the excitement of live Thoroughbred racing, working closely with trainers and horsemen to maintain the health and performance of elite equine athletes. This position offers a unique opportunity to build strong professional relationships within the racing community while enjoying the vibrant, fast-paced atmosphere of the backstretch.



Position Overview

  • Full-time, year-round position based at Delaware Park Racetrack, with additional opportunities at Fair Hill Training Center and surrounding areas.
  • Focus on racetrack medicine, sports medicine, soundness evaluations, and lameness.
  • Access to a fully equipped outpatient hospital with advanced diagnostic tools including digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, gastroscopy and more.
  • For experienced vets: Clinical autonomy and the opportunity to bring your expertise into a respected, well-supported practice

Ideal Candidate Qualities

  • Strong hands-on equine experience; racetrack experience a plus
  • Internship-trained preferred; experience in lameness, imaging, and sports medicine highly valued.
  • DVM/VMD or equivalent, eligible for licensure in DE, MD, & PA
  • A confident, communicative veterinarian who thrives in a fast-paced setting
  • Passion for racetrack medicine and a desire to build a fulfilling, long-term role
