Animal Medical Center of Plainfield is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician lead to join our state-of-the-art facility in Plainfield, IL. As a 19-doctor, full-service General Practice and Emergency hospital, we provide top-tier veterinary care to pets throughout the Southwest suburbs of Chicago. Due to growth within our GP department, we are expanding our team!

What We’re Looking For:

· A Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or an experienced Veterinary Technician with 1+ years of experience.

· We are seeking a candidate with proven leadership experience who can effectively guide, support, and motivate a team.

· Surgical experience is a must – comfortable assisting in GP surgery, anesthesia monitoring, and perioperative nursing care.

· A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist veterinarians in general practice appointments, surgery, and dental procedures.

· Perform blood draws, IV catheter placements, and anesthesia monitoring.

· Educate clients on preventative care, post-surgical instructions, and treatment plans.

· Operate and maintain diagnostic and surgical equipment.

· Ensure a clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment area.

· Provide exceptional patient care and client communication.

· Stay up to date on all current training protocols and ensure that all team members are informed.

· Oversee shift flow to ensure that all clients and patients receive professional, timely, and competent care. Redirect the floor as needed based on skill level and DVM need.

· Hold team members accountable for following established protocols and policies, including dress code, cell phone policy, etc

· Provide ongoing feedback and coaching, especially to staff who are not adhering to hospital policies

· Lead regular team huddles to reinforce protocols and maintain open lines of communication
