Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated, reliable, and passionate individual for our boarding facility located alongside Savannah Animal Hospital.

The purpose of this position is to provide care for and tend to the needs of our guests utilizing the services in kenneling and daycare

 

MAJOR DUTIES

 

· Ability to observe animal behavior and body language for any signs of aggression, illness or discomfort.

· Thoroughly clean and disinfect all kennels from overnight and as pets leave the facility. Ensuring no cages or kennels are left soiled or dirty for any reason.

· Laundry throughout the day as well as washing dishes used for feeding

· Maintain yards to keep free of stool while outside

· Socialization of dogs with other pets in groups of 7 or more.

· Exercise boarding and day-care dogs several times a day and provide time for elimination of bowels and bladder. Allow cats time to be out of their cages to Exercise/play.

· Supervise animal play in day-care of 30 pets or more. Being proactive in preventing conflicts is important. Interact and play with animals in day-care to provide a positive experience for each animal. Write day-care reports highlighting the animal's days and activities.

· Ability to communicate effectively with clients and a willingness to learn several positions in the facility including - basic knowledge of answering phones, check-in and out process and working in kennels and daycare throughout the day.

· Capable of being on feet for extended periods of time and a willingness to endure many weather conditions throughout the year

 

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

· Administer medications according to instructions provided

· Proper knowledge of restraint while administering mediations or during grooming services

· Individual must have the ability to handle heavy and fast-paced workload

· Ability to work well and communicate effectively with the public and fellow employees

· Problem solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people
