ICU Veterinary Technician (Night Shift) – Part Time
Emergency & Critical Care | Dallas–Fort Worth, TX
I-20 Animal Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time ICU Veterinary Technician to join our overnight emergency and critical care team serving the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinary technician with 2–3+ years in emergency or urgent care who thrives in a fast-paced ICU environment and is confident managing critical patients overnight.
I-20 Animal Medical Center is a large, 24/7 emergency and multi-service hospital offering emergency care, general practice, advanced dental services, boarding, grooming, and comprehensive in-house diagnostics.

ICU Veterinary Technician Responsibilities
• Triage emergency cases upon arrival and communicate effectively with veterinarians and technical staff
• Provide advanced nursing care to hospitalized and critical patients
• Administer IV fluid therapy, oxygen therapy, wound care, and feeding tube management
• Perform ongoing patient assessments for pain, comfort, and stability
• Provide advanced nursing care to hospitalized and critical patients
• Administer IV fluid therapy, oxygen therapy, wound care, and feeding tube management
• Perform ongoing patient assessments for pain, comfort, and stability
• Place IV catheters and perform phlebotomy and sample collection
• Assist with blood and plasma transfusions
• Monitor anesthesia for both emergency and routine surgeries
• Operate anesthetic ventilation and provide neonatal nursing care when needed
• Perform and interpret in-house diagnostics, including:
- CBC and chemistry panels
- Blood gas analysis
- Urinalysis
- Cytology
- Coagulation testing
- Blood typing
- Prepare, store, and ship reference laboratory samples

• Part-time
• Flexible Shifts between 7:00 PM – 5:00 AM

Compensation
• Starting at $24/hour, based on experience

Qualifications
• 2–3+ years of experience in emergency, ICU, or urgent care veterinary medicine
• Strong technical proficiency in anesthesia monitoring and critical care
• Comfortable working overnight in a high-volume emergency hospital
• Ability to remain calm and organized in high-pressure situations
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
