Job Title: Inventory Coordinator & Veterinary Technician
South Shore Equine Clinic & Diagnostic Center is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Full Time Inventory Coordinator to join our hospital team. This is a hospital-based position that plays a critical role in keeping our medical operations running smoothly while also assisting with patient care and clinical support.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys organization and logistics but also wants to stay involved in hands-on equine veterinary medicine. Horse experience is required, as the role includes working directly with hospitalized horses and assisting veterinarians during appointments and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Supply Management

Manage all hospital inventory including pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, laboratory materials, and equipment

Monitor inventory levels and place orders with vendors as needed

Receive, unpack, and organize incoming shipments

Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory counts

Ensure medications and supplies are stored appropriately and within expiration dates

Coordinate with veterinarians and management to anticipate upcoming supply needs
Hospital & Patient Care

Assist with the care and monitoring of hospitalized patients

Administer treatments and medications as directed by veterinarians

Assist veterinarians during appointments, diagnostics, and procedures

Help prepare patients and equipment for examinations and treatments
Laboratory Support

Run patient bloodwork using in-house laboratory equipment

Prepare samples and maintain laboratory supplies and organization
Qualifications

Horse handling experience required (10 years minimum)
- Candidates must have prior experience managing inventory, including ordering, tracking, and maintaining supply levels (2 years minimum)

Comfortable working with horses in a hospital setting

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records

Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills

Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is a plus, but not required
