Full-Time Kennel Assistant

Are you looking for a meaningful role where you can make a real difference in the lives of animals and their families? Abbotsford Animal Hospital is seeking a Full-Time Kennel Assistant to become a valued member of our dedicated veterinary team.

With over 30 years of trusted veterinary care, Abbotsford Animal Hospital is committed to providing exceptional medical services while prioritizing the comfort and well-being of our patients.

This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about animal care, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is looking to gain experience in the veterinary field. We are ideally looking for someone to start in August or September 2026.

Key Responsibilities

·       Care for hospitalized patients, including feeding, watering and taking them outside.

·       Assist with patient restraint for examinations, treatment, and surgical procedures.

·       Clean and sanitize kennels, exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment.

·       Assist with laundry, dishes, and general clinic upkeep.

·       Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, clients, and staff.

·       Support the veterinary team with day-to-day hospital operations as needed.

Requirements

·       Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in Canada.

·       Compassion and empathy toward animals and their owners.

·       Strong communication and teamwork skills.

·       Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

·       Comfortable performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and cleaning.

·       Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and Saturdays.

·       Previous animal care or veterinary experience is considered an asset.

Compensation: $18.00-$20.00 per hour (based on experience)
