Job Description
Location: Dove Mountain Veterinary, Marana, AZ
Schedule: 4 days per week, including one weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday)
About Us
Dove Mountain Veterinary is a fast-paced, AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and outstanding client service. We are looking for a compassionate, dependable, and hardworking Kennel Technician to join our team.
This position is ideal for someone who loves animals, enjoys staying active throughout the day, and takes pride in maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for hospitalized and boarding pets
- Feed, walk, medicate (as directed), and monitor patients
- Clean and disinfect kennels, runs, cages, and treatment areas
- Launder bedding and maintain cleanliness throughout the hospital
- Monitor pets for changes in behavior, appetite, or overall condition and report concerns to medical staff
- Assist veterinary technicians and doctors with animal restraint when needed
- Maintain accurate records of patient care activities
- Ensure pets receive compassionate attention and enrichment during their stay
- Stock supplies and assist with general hospital upkeep
Qualifications
- Previous animal care experience preferred (kennel, boarding, daycare, shelter, or veterinary setting)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills and positive attitude
Schedule Requirements
- Four shifts per week
- Must be available for one weekend shift each week
- Availability during holidays is a plus, as animal care is provided 365 days a year
