Job Description

Location: Dove Mountain Veterinary, Marana, AZ
Schedule: 4 days per week, including one weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday)

About Us

Dove Mountain Veterinary is a fast-paced, AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and outstanding client service. We are looking for a compassionate, dependable, and hardworking Kennel Technician to join our team.

This position is ideal for someone who loves animals, enjoys staying active throughout the day, and takes pride in maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily care for hospitalized and boarding pets
  • Feed, walk, medicate (as directed), and monitor patients
  • Clean and disinfect kennels, runs, cages, and treatment areas
  • Launder bedding and maintain cleanliness throughout the hospital
  • Monitor pets for changes in behavior, appetite, or overall condition and report concerns to medical staff
  • Assist veterinary technicians and doctors with animal restraint when needed
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care activities
  • Ensure pets receive compassionate attention and enrichment during their stay
  • Stock supplies and assist with general hospital upkeep

Qualifications

  • Previous animal care experience preferred (kennel, boarding, daycare, shelter, or veterinary setting)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills and positive attitude

Schedule Requirements

  • Four shifts per week
  • Must be available for one weekend shift each week
  • Availability during holidays is a plus, as animal care is provided 365 days a year
