 We are looking for a Part Time Kennel Assistant(s) to join our amazing veterinary team, to provide outstanding patient care and client service in a fast-paced, multi-doctor animal hospital.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques in a hospital setting
  • Previous experience in the veterinary field a plus
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Patience, compassion and a genuine love for animals
  • Demonstrates professionalism and dependability
  • Physical stamina to lift and restrain animals of various sizes
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs

Responsibilities

  • The Kennel Assistant is responsible for the care, well-being, safety and healthy environment for the animals being boarded at the hospital.
  • Responsible for providing appropriate feeding schedules, water, regular exercise, playtime and socialization for the animals.
  • Maintain accurate records of each animals feeding
  • Cleaning and disinfecting kennels, cages and play areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
  • Providing basic medical care to ensure the comfort and health of the animals in our care
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized environment within the facility and support veterinary staff as needed
  • Communicate with clients and veterinary staff
  • Maintain laundry throughout the day and keep laundry area neat
  • Set kennels up for incoming boarders and discharge boarders .

 

Schedule:

  • Flexible schedule including some weekend and holiday shifts
  • Weekend availability a must
  • Day shift

Slaray range:  $17.27hr to $19hr based on experience
