Job Description

Lafayette Veterinary Care Center is a 24/7 veterinary hospital, along with boarding, grooming, and doggie daycare services. Our Pet Care Specialist role focuses on the patient experience at our boarding facility. As a team, Lafayette Veterinary Care Center strives to create a practice where employees can make a difference daily. We are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week to provide extraordinary care for our extraordinary clients and patients.

**** This is a full-time position. Hours range from 5:30a-12:30p, 8a-4p, 12p-7p

Pay ranges from 10 on weekdays to 12 on weekends.

What you bring to the table:

  • General care for boarded patients including monitoring, feeding, watering, medicating, exercising, and cleaning up after patients (inside and out), cleaning suites, runs, and feline condos.

  • Bringing animals to and from the kenneling areas during check-in and check-out times preparing these facility areas for the arrival and departure of patients.

  • Client education

  • Maintain a professional demeanor and use of medical terminology

  • Desire to learn and an ability to adapt to changing situations

  • Extraordinary customer service

  • Standing, sitting, crouching, walking multiple times per day for care of pets

  • Routinely check safety and security of patient areas.

  • Greet clients promptly and cheerfully, provide useful and upbeat/positive, polite feedback regarding their pet’s care and stay.  

  • Restraining of pets for your safety and our team’s safety

  • Keeping a team mentality at all times
