Job Description

We are currently looking to add a compassionate, hardworking individual to our team as a full-time Kennel Assistant to assist with the daily operations of our boarding kennel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care for dogs, cats, and other animals in the kennel, including feeding, watering, and administering medication as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kennel by cleaning kennels, play areas, common spaces, and hospital grounds.
- Monitor animals for any signs of illness or distress and report any concerns to the Boarding Supervisor.
- Assist with walking and exercising dogs, ensuring they receive enough physical activity.
- Communicate with pet owners regarding their pets’ care, any concerns, and updates as directed by the Boarding Supervisor.
- Maintain accurate written and computerized records of animal care routines, medical needs, and any special instructions.
- Help ensure the kennel is a safe, calm, and welcoming environment for both animals and visitors.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions and assisting with check-ins and check-outs.
Requirements:
- A genuine love for animals and a strong desire to work with them.
- Previous experience in animal care or working with animals is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move animals or heavy objects (with assistance for items or pets over 40 lbs).
- Must be over 18 years old.
- Schedule requirements include daytime and evening hours, rotating weekends, and holidays.
