Job Description

Seven Bends Veterinary Hospital seeking a Kennel Assistant to join our team! This is a part-time position and the ideal candidate will have experience working with animals. If you are passionate about animals and dedicated to exceptional client service, our hospital may be the right fit for you!

Our kennel assistants are responsible for providing care to our boarding patients (cats & dogs) and maintaining the cleanliness of our hospital. This position typically requires evening shifts (4pm - 7pm) and alternating weekend and holiday shifts (7am - 10am and 4pm - 7pm).

Please note: Our hospital and grounds are a smoke-free, drug-free, and alcohol-free workplace.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Ensure boarding animals are kept clean and well care for while in our facility

- Admit and discharge boarding animals

- Feeding and watering boarders

- Administration of medication(s) and records documentation

- Ensure boarding dogs are take out for bathroom breaks and playtime throughout the day

- Changing litter pans

- Clean and sanitize kennels/cages

- Bathing dogs before discharged from boarding

- Ability to recognize signs of illness in cats and dogs

- Ensure cleanliness and sanitization protocols are followed

- Maintaining cleanliness of the hospital and kennel to include:

sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, wiping down surfaces, trash collection, washing dishes, laundry, and other deep cleaning tasks as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

- A compassionate nature and a genuine love for animals

- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to make clients feel welcome and at ease

- Proficient in using computers and standard office software

 

Requirements:

- Must be a minimum of 18 years old

- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

- Reliable transportation

- Regular attendance and punctuality

- Able to meet physical demand to include sitting, standing, and/or walking for extended periods and frequently working in a bent or squatting position

Pay starting at $13.00 per hour
