Job Description

Laredo Animal Clinic is looking for a Full-time Kennel Technician to join our fast-paced, 2 doctor veterinary facility.  Must be willing to work evenings and weekends, and some holidays. Must be flexible. Kennel Technicians provide the basic needs of animals that are being boarded, examined, or being hospitalized. Training is provided. General duties include but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning (this means anything & everything) and sanitizing cages, boarding area, bathrooms etc.
  •          feeding and caring for canines and felines
  •          walking canines (no matter the weather), changing feline litter pans
  •          doing laundry & washing, sanitizing pet dishes
  •          cleaning and maintaining hospital interior and outside premises (this includes lobby, lunch room, treatment rooms, exam rooms, lobby, storage, & any other part of the clinic that needs attending to)
  •          checking on all patients throughout the day
  •          assisting Veterinarians and Technicians when needed
  •          giving medications to hospitalized or boarding patients
  •          Communicates to Vets/Techs about patient’s health that are being boarded or hospitalized and be able to keep an efficient log on patients.
  •          standing and walking for long periods of time
  •         must be able to multitask in a busy environment
  •         lift and carry up to 40lbs

Pay rate will be determined by experience.

  • The base hourly starting rate for this position is $13/hr. Our pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
