Job Summary:


The Leave of Absence & Accommodation Business Partner (LOAA BP) is a senior individual contributor role within the Benefits Team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Leave & Disability. This role supports the centralized leave and accommodation program by serving as a key escalation point for complex cases, a trusted partner to business leaders and People Business Partners, and a subject matter expert for LOAA Specialists.

 
The LOAA BP brings hands-on experience working within insourced and cosourced leave, accommodation, and integrated disability models, as well as exposure to the onboarding or stabilization of leave and accommodation platforms. This role requires sound judgment, strong partnership skills, and the ability to balance compliance, operational realities, and the employee experience.


Key Responsibilities:

Reporting Relationship

  • Report directly to the Senior Manager, Leave & Disability, supporting strategic and operational objectives for the Leave and Accommodation program.
  • Serve as a senior individual contributor within the LOAA function.
Complex Leave & Accommodation Support
  • Act as an escalation resource for complex, sensitive, or high-risk leave and accommodation cases.
  • Support advanced interactive discussions related to ADA, PWFA, extended leaves, and multi-jurisdictional scenarios.
  • Assess documentation sufficiency, operational considerations, and compliance requirements to inform appropriate next steps. 
Business Partnership & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with business leaders, People Business Partners, HR, Legal, and site leadership.
  • Provide consultative guidance to leaders on leave and accommodation considerations, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Support consistent decision-making across business lines while balancing employee needs and business constraints.

LOAA Specialist Guidance & Enablement

  • Provide guidance and support to LOAA Specialists managing day-to-day leave and accommodation cases.
  • Serve as a resource for interpreting policy, documentation requirements, and regulatory considerations.
  • Partner with leadership to identify coaching, training, and process improvement opportunities.

Program & Process Improvement

  • Identify trends, recurring challenges, and opportunities to improve the leave and accommodation experience.
  • Contribute to process enhancements with a bias for action, supporting scalability, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Assist in the development of job aids, guidance materials, and internal resources.

Compliance, Reporting & Risk Support

  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local leave and accommodation laws, including FMLA, ADA, PWFA, and state paid leave programs.
  • Partner with Legal and Employee Relations on complex matters as needed.
  • Assist with reporting, audits, and analysis to identify risks and improvement opportunities.

Technology & Vendor Coordination

  • Utilize HRIS and leave and accommodation platforms to support effective case management.
  • Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and improve workflows.
  • Provide feedback on platform functionality and support ongoing optimization efforts.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Rehabilitation Services, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience supporting insourced and/or cosourced leave of absence, ADA accommodations, and integrated disability programs in a mid- to large-sized organization.
  • Experience supporting the onboarding, implementation, or optimization of a leave and accommodation platform within an insourced or hybrid model.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as an escalation resource for complex leave and accommodation cases.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state leave and accommodation laws, including FMLA, ADA, PWFA, USERRA, and state paid leave programs.
  • Ability to navigate complex scenarios using sound judgment and escalate appropriately.
  • Strong partnership and communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, practical guidance.

Technical Proficiency

  • Experience working within HRIS and leave/accommodation platforms such as Dayforce, ADP, LeaveSource, or similar systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel for reporting and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as CLMS, CPDM, CRC, SHRM-CP, PHR, or related credentials.
  • Experience supporting multi-state and California-based leave and accommodation programs.
  • Experience in decentralized or multi-site environments.

 


The base salary range for this full-time position is $95,000-$105,000. Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The Company offers competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision benefits, vacation, sick leave, 401(k), and more depending on location.
