Key Responsibilities:

·        Patient Care

o   Monitor and assess patients before, during and after surgery or treatment.

o   Provide nursing care, including administering medications and fluid therapy

o   Perform TPR’s and record vital signs

o   Restrain animals safely and humanely for exams and procedures

·        Medical Procedures

o   Collect and process blood, urine, fecal and other diagnostic samples

o   Perform in-house laboratory testing (e.g., bloodwork, cytology, urinalysis)

o   Take digital radiographs using IDEXX PACS and working with SignalPet.

o   Assist in surgical procedures, including prepping patients and maintaining sterile fields.

o   Administer and monitor anesthesia under veterinarian supervision.

o   Perform dental cleanings and charting.

·        Client Communication

o   Explain at-home care instructions, medications, and treatment plans to clients.

o   Support clients with pre- and post-operative care questions.

o   Educate clients on preventative care, such as vaccinations, nutrition and parasite prevention.

·        Animal Welfare & Handling

o   Monitor animal behavior and report changes to veterinarian.

o   Ensure a clean, safe, and low-stress environment for hospitalized animals.

o   Maintain proper handling techniques to reduce fear and risk of injury.

·        Administration Duties

o   Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, while utilizing ScribeNote.

o   Prepare estimates and assist in treatment planning.

o   Ensure proper documentation of controlled substances and inventory.

·        Hospital Maintenance & Safety

o   Sterilize instruments and clean surgical suites.

o   Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas, kennels and lab spaces.

o   Follow safety and infection control protocols.

Anticipated Schedule:

·        Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 7:30am-5:30pm

·        Anticipated 32-38 hours per week

·        Able to work weekends as needed

·        Able to work holidays as needed

·        4 week schedule provided in advance

Compensation:

·        Hourly wages range based on skills, experience, and relevant training. Range is typically $15-$24

·        Eligible for quarterly bonuses

     The base hourly range for this position is $15.00 - $24.00. Our pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
