A full-service small animal veterinary clinic, Haven Animal Hospital's team of friendly and experienced veterinarians, licensed veterinary technicians, and staff are committed to only the best in healthcare for your beloved pets. We have a complete in-house laboratory and radiology facility, with which we provide multiple advanced services, such as digital tonometry (glaucoma testing), fiber-optic endoscopy, digital ultrasound, stem cell therapy and laser therapy. It is our ultimate goal to provide top quality personalized veterinary services to all our patients and ensure our commitment to excellence.
Your Mission: As a licensed veterinary technician at Haven Animal Hospital to maintain a positive and upbeat attitude while helping with the care of patients. You will be assisting the veterinarian in the care of animals during dental procedures, surgeries, radiographs and other procedures as needed and communicating with clients regarding their pets’ services and needs in a nurturing manner.
Specific responsibilities & duties:
- Manage the care of hospitalized animals & the follow up
- Able to work holidays & weekends
- Safetly get a surgery patient from start to finish through a procedure
- Preform ear cytologies, fecal cytologies & blood draws
- Setting IV catheters (in multiple areas); vaccine preparation; TPRs; setting up x-ray
- assisting receptionist in answering phones; taking and passing messages on to appropriate staff member
Required qualifications:
- Licensed in the LVT program from an accredited school
- Ability to work with computers and other technology and learn AviMark Software
- Ability to lift 50lbs or more
- Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time
- Team player who is outgoing, positive, energetic, self-motivated and wiliness to follow procedures and protocols
- Experience with all labs, diagnostics & treatments
- Recognize certain behaviors in animals
- Learn and understand medical terminology and procedures
- Recognize certain behaviors in animals
- Adapt to the different needs and styles of other technicians and doctors
- Provide exceptional customer service
