Job Description
As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing clinical support to our veterinarians and ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients. You will be responsible for a variety of technical and nursing duties, including performing diagnostic procedures, administering anesthesia, assisting with surgery, and providing patient care. Your expertise will be essential in helping us provide the highest standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in exams, surgeries, and procedures.
- Perform laboratory diagnostics such as blood draws, urinalysis.
- Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during procedures.
- Assist in patient recovery and provide appropriate post-operative care.
- Perform radiographs (X-rays) and other diagnostic imaging.
- Educate pet owners on care instructions, medication administration, and preventive health practices.
- Maintain accurate patient records in our practice management system.
- Provide compassionate and thorough care to pets and their owners.
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to provide exceptional service.
Qualifications:
- Current license as a Veterinary Technician in New York State.
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting preferred, but new graduates are welcome.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary procedures and protocols.
- Ability to perform clinical skills such as venipuncture, catheter placement, radiography, and anesthesia monitoring.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to educate pet owners.
- Compassionate, team-oriented, and dedicated to animal care.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with veterinary practice management software is a plus.
Compensation:
• Base hourly rate of $23-$27
• Eligible for periodic bonus
