Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)

Appalachian - New River Veterinary Hospital

Job Description

*SIGN-ON BONUS AVAILABLE FOR CREDENTIALED TECHNICIANS! *

Are you a Credentialed Veterinary Technician who is looking to further your knowledge of the human-animal bond and practice low-stress handling techniques? Are you looking for a clinic that supports your professional growth by providing you with a safe space to ask for what you need? If these are values that are important to you, Appalachian New River Veterinary Associates is looking for compassionate individuals to join their AAHA-accredited, Feline Friendly certified practice in Boone, North Carolina.

About Us:

Since 1985, Appalachian New River Veterinary Associates has been providing compassionate and consistent care to the families of Boone and its surrounding communities. Our commitment to comprehensive care includes the preservation of the human-animal bond to ensure that you and your pet both have a positive experience with our team. To maintain our gold standard of care, our facility is equipped with an array of diagnostic equipment and services including but not limited to an advanced dentistry program, digital radiography, ultrasound, laser therapy, behavior consultations, and Idexx laboratory equipment.

What to Expect:

·         Support: Management welcomes new ideas, supports your career growth, and encourages you to continue to grow through open channels of communication and effective problem-solving. Our clinic is closed every Wednesday from 2-4 pm for staff education purposes!

·         Kindness: Our kind and welcoming team gains even more fulfillment in giving back to our community through various forms of outreach including food pantries and giving trees.

·         Outdoor Adventures: Boone is home to rich history, magnificent views of the High Country, and exciting outdoor activities for anyone in any season.

About You:

Our ideal candidate has completed an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program and has 1-2 years of clinical experience under their belt. This person is interested in continuing to grow and share ideas in a collaborative environment but is comfortable with performing dentals, anesthesia monitoring, and client communications. You are experienced, yet open to learning more from everyone. Kindness is key in our practice, and we are looking for someone who is just as passionate about low-stress handling as we are. There is room for growth here and we are looking for a person who is excited to help lead others to do their best instead of fixing their problems for them.

Compensation: $18 – 23 hourly based on experience

Anticipated Schedule (TBD):
