Job Description

Rutland Animal Hospital is a compassionate full-service veterinary hospital that strives to provide gold-standard medicine to our patients and exceptional service to our clients. We are located in a growing suburban area where we treat our patients as our own and our clients as family!

We are looking to fill a full-time position

Job Responsibilities:

  • Proficient at animal husbandry.
  • Proficient at animal restraint.
  • Obtain and record patient histories, vital signs, and weight.
  • Perform in-hospital diagnostic testing.
  • Dispense and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
  • IV catheter placement and maintenance.
  • Administer, prepare, and monitor patients here for surgical procedures.
  • Maintain an efficient flow of daily operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintain superb cleanliness throughout the facility.

Skills Required:

  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to remain calm in times of various pressures
  • Ability to foster a positive work environment

Education:

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Virginia Board of Veterinary Medicine
  • 1+ years of experience working as an LVT preferred
