The Licensed Veterinary Technician’s role is imperative to the hospital. Every department relies on their significant role in aiding with a variety of procedures and services to provide excellent client and patient care.

The base hourly range for this position is $20 - $27. Our pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

 

Job Description Overview:

·        Assist with patient care and treatment, including medical record documentation

·        Monitor hospitalized pets / Monitor/aid in caring for animals during anesthetized procedures and surgeries

·        Preforming dentals

·        Aiding in urgent care, critical care appointments

·        Use of safe restraint, venipuncture, anesthetic induction and recovery techniques

·        Aiding with routine diagnostic tests (i.e. Taking radiographs,  bloodwork, urinalysis, smears, cytologies, and other various in-house and referral laboratory tests)

·        Customer service and comfort in computer skills

Qualifications:

·        Licensed Veterinary Technician in WA state

·        Must be 18yrs old or older

·        Must be a self-starter, able to multitask and a team player.

·        Genuinely enjoys working with animals and is able to work with them even when they are stressed, ill or in pain.

·        Prefer 1+ years of experience, but not required.

·         Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Work requires lifting, carrying and restraining animals (will be assisted by other staff members in lifting animals over 40 lbs.). Should be able to lift 40lbs on own.

·         Walks or stands for extended periods or time; frequently works in a bent or squatting position.

·        Is experienced in the teamwork approach and works well with all levels of hospital team members.
