Locum Emergency Veterinarian

Animal Emergency Clinic of the Fraser Valley

Job Description

Are you an experienced emergency veterinarian looking for a locum opportunity to practice within one of the most well-respected, long-established ERs in one of the most beautiful places in North America? If so we want to talk to you!

For this position we require 3+ years of experience as an emergency veterinarian, and experience providing emergency surgery. Please note: We are unable to mentor or hire on a restricted license at this time.

AECFV has been a well-respected emergency practice for 27 years.  Located in Langley in the southern west coast of British Columbia’s Lower Mainland, our location is perfect if you enjoy an active lifestyle combined with big city culture. Mountains, freshwater lakes, and lush forests provide you with an abundance of indoor and outdoor activities to suit every lifestyle.

OUR HOSPITAL

AECFV is an AAHA accredited 24-hour emergency facility that is continually striving for innovation and growth. We provide coverage for more than 100 referring general practices. We are proud to have one of the largest blood banks in Canada. A project that started almost 25 years ago to ensure we had blood products for our own patients, now ensures all veterinary hospitals in BC have access!

Our beautiful, open concept 8,000 sq ft hospital is equipped with everything to provide comprehensive, gold-standard emergency care. With our busy caseload, you will have the opportunity to perform emergency surgeries, endoscopy, ultrasound, and CT procedures. No two days are the same here! Additionally, we are thrilled to have a board-certified Internist starting with us summer 2025.

CULTURE

Our management team understands that continued education, physical and mental health, financial security along with sufficient time to unwind is vital to a stimulating and sustainable career. We want you to be the best you can be! Every member of our team is invaluable.  Without a good team, we cannot provide the level of care our patients deserve. While we take patient care very seriously, we hold fast to our sense of family, fun and community by cultivating a culture of respect, kindness, and inclusion.  At AECFV, we work as a team and the knowledge of all peer levels is respected.
