As the Manager, Clinical Learning and Veterinarian Mentorship, you will play a strategic role in developing and scaling a transformative learning culture that fosters growth, mentorship, and excellence in both clinical and non-clinical roles.


What You’ll Do:


In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of learning strategies aimed at elevating performance, supporting the development of newly graduated Veterinarians, and integrating learning initiatives in hospital operations. You will collaborate closely with leaders across our hospitals and CSC to shape a learning agenda that aligns with NVA Canada's values, mission, and growth goals.


Key Responsibilities:


·      Early Career Veterinarian Mentorship Program Leadership: Lead the development and execution of the Mentorship Program for newly graduated Veterinarians who are new to the profession, strengthening efforts of mentors and partnering with recruitment to demonstrate NVA’s commitment to ongoing professional development.


·      Learning Engagement: Partner with cross-functional teams to identify learning needs across clinical and non-clinical settings, transforming strategic goals into actionable learning solutions.


·      Practical Learning Solutions: Design and implement hospital-focused learning experiences that foster continuous development, ensuring that learning is not only engaging but also practically applicable to day-to-day operations.


·     Operational and Support Team Partnership: Serve as a key learning partner for operational and support teams, advising on best practices for integrating learning initiatives into diverse roles and environments.


·      Data-Driven Program Enhancement: Use feedback and data insights to assess the effectiveness of learning programs, continuously improving them to maximize engagement and impact.


·      Contributing to the veterinary profession: where opportunities exist and schedules permit, be an advocate for the profession and the need to foster a balanced approach to in and out of hospital commitments.



What Makes Someone a Good Fit?


·      A minimum of 5 years of experience in Learning and Development, ideally within veterinary settings.


·      Proven experience designing and scaling learning programs, with strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.


·      Demonstrated ability to translate learning programs into practical, on-the-job applications for diverse teams.


·      Strong coaching and assessment capabilities, for Newly Graduated Veterinarians entering the mentorship program and for hospital leadership teams and their ability to create and deliver a compelling in hospital mentoring experience.


·      Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to foster partnerships across functions and roles.  This includes working and collaborating with NVA mentoring programs.


·      Analytical acumen with a focus on leveraging data for continuous program improvement and reporting on program metrics, accomplishments, and areas for improvement to support the ongoing investment by NVA and the hospitals.


·      Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.


·      A minimum of 8 years of in-practice experience as a licenced veterinarian


·     Extremely strong organizational and planning skills to manage multiple mentorship engagements/cohorts at one time.
