Overview 
National Veterinary Associates (NVA™) is the largest private owner of freestanding veterinary hospitals in the United States. The Role 
NVA is seeking a Manager of Procurement Data & Analytics to lead the analytics function within the Procurement Department. This role is responsible for managing a team of analysts and overseeing strategic sourcing and category management initiatives through data-driven insights. The Manager will drive the development and maintenance of centralized, accurate datasets, lead cross-functional analytics projects, and serve as a key liaison between Procurement and other departments. 


The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in the data analytics field and at least 2 years of managing teams, with a strong background in transforming raw data into actionable insights for large, multimillion-dollar organizations. They are a proven people leader with a passion for mentoring talent, building scalable reporting tools, and managing complex analytics projects that support strategic business decisions. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in defining and developing a foundational data analytics plan for an organization at the cutting edge of premier veterinary care! 


Key Responsibilities 


Leadership & Team Management 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analysts to support Procurement’s strategic goals and core projects. 
  • Set performance expectations, provide feedback, and foster a culture of engagement and continuous improvement. 
  • Prioritize and delegate analytics projects across the team to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables. 

Strategic Analytics Oversight 

  • Own the architecture and governance of Procurement’s master data sets and reporting frameworks. 
  • Develop and enforce data management SOPs and best practices across the team. 
  • Ensure data accuracy, version control, and reproducibility of analysis through process builds and documentation. 

Project & Stakeholder Management 

  • Manage shared projects with Strategic Sourcing, Finance, Operations, and Suppliers to align on business needs. 
  • Lead meetings with internal stakeholders to scope requirements, present findings, and influence decision-making. 
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for executive-level reporting and strategic planning. 

Advanced Reporting & Insights 

  • Oversee the team development of dashboards and reports using tools such as PowerBI, Oracle OTBI, and SQL. 
  • Guide the team in normalizing and mapping data across categories, brands, and vendors to support spend analysis. 
  • Identify trends, seasonality, and competitive dynamics in procurement data to inform sourcing strategies. 

Skills and Specifications 

  • Strong Excel, PowerBI, Oracle, and SQL skills; Experienced in reviewing and manipulating large raw data sets/reports 
  • Exposure to database handling (managing data, running reports, analyzing financials on a daily or weekly basis)  
  • Highly skilled in data comprehension with the ability to observe patterns in medium to large data sets  
  • Basic understanding of financial concepts such as GL codes, financial comparisons, month-end close, etc. 
  • Detail oriented and can translate information to both micro and macro reports 
  • Problem solver with the ability to create solutions that can be translated into a formal process 
  • Organized and able to manage priorities in the face of time-sensitive reporting 
  • Good communication skills and can collaborate with internal departments, field teams, and external vendors 
  • Strong aptitude for coordinating large projects that may span the work of different team members 
  • Basic project management capabilities; Proactive with diligent follow through 
  • Proficient in other Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, etc.) 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Marketing, Mathematics, Healthcare Administration, or equivalent work experience; Master’s degree in these disciplines is highly recommended. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an analytics role and at least 2 years of management experience. 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead meetings or present to stakeholders regularly. 

Animal Health Experience is a plus!
