Managing Veterinarian | Monroe, WA

Cascade Animal Clinic

Job Description

Cascade Animal Clinic in Monroe WA,  is in search of a Veterinarian/Medical Director: Sign On Bonus $75,000; Joint Ownership Potential

Are you looking for a work-life balance that allows you to explore the great Pacific Northwest, knowing that your patients are well cared for when you are not at work?  Do you love discussing cases with your fellow veterinarians and encouraging staff members to learn and grow, helping the group to be their best?  Are you looking to advance your career and step into a management role with some mentoring and coaching and a gentle transition?  If so, Cascade Animal Clinic wants to meet you!

This Medical Director position is unique in that the veterinarian would still be able to manage their own medical caseload and would partner with a Hospital Manager to run the team and manage the site. For the right candidate there is also a joint venture opportunity with future buy-in potential.

  • Compensation projection of $140K + (we pay with a Salary Plus model that guarantees your salary with no negative accrual and provides monthly bonus payouts when you produce beyond your salary minimum)
  • $75,000+ Sign-on Bonus (this role is very important to our team and we will happily reward the right candidate)
  • Joint Venture Partnership Opportunity
  • Full Benefits including health care, dental, vision and a 401K with match
  • Flexible scheduling and TRUE PTO
  • Annual commitment to Continued Education (4-5 days covered plus $5,000 in Stipend Funds)

We want you to:

  • Adore your patients and have to be pulled out of the exam room because you are having such a good time chatting with the clients
  • Love your job but know when to walk away and enjoy the other parts of your life
  • Know that you cannot always do it alone
  • Engage the staff and help them to feel great about a job well done
  • Extend grace when the day is crazy and everyone is a little stressed
  • Give feedback when you see something that can be done a better way
  • Continue to learn and strive to be your best professionally and as a person

We strive to:

  • Foster a close relationship between you and your clients by asking them to schedule with you each time
  • Give you the best opportunity to succeed by providing a high staff-to-doctor ratio and excellent quality equipment
  • Give you access to an in-house radiologist and cardiologist on a regular basis
  • Encourage and support you on the best and worst of days
  • Give you coffee when you need a pick me up, and give you a break when you are feeling close to your breaking point
  • Send you to continuing education of your own choosing and listen intently to what you have learned

Our clinic:

  • Has been established and well-loved in the community for decades
  • Fosters long-term relationships with clients, and also welcomes new ones
  • Employs licensed veterinary technicians and schedules one tech and one assistant for each doctor on surgery days
  • Has amazing equipment to make your day flow smoothly (digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, etc)
  • Is willing to invest in new equipment, medications, and special "asks" for you to practice your best medicine
  • Holds an annual all-staff retreat to encourage bonding and, of course…have lots of fun!

This position:

  • Allows you plenty of time to rest…you will only work 3-4 days a week (unless someone else is in need of a break; we cover for each other’s vacations)
  • Has the potential for good earnings – our doctors average $120,000 per year with 22% production pay, management earns more
  • Asks that you take part in Saturday rotational shifts once a month
  • Has no on call, emergency after hours, or Sunday requirements
  • Can grow with you: interested in orthopedics, physical therapy, exotic medicine?  Let’s help you explore that!

The location:

  • Is in the heart of the Pacific Northwest surrounded by mountains and water
  • Allows for camping, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, climbing, biking, and all other forms of general exploring you can dream up
  • Is a quiet suburb with easy ferry access to Seattle
