We are looking for a Medical Director / Managing Veterinarian to lead our team at The Paw Patch Place!


The Paw Patch Place is an established, busy, high-quality practice that caters to each client and patient on an individual basis. We have an amazing clientele and experienced staff that allows us to practice good quality medicine. We strive for quality medicine and surgery in a warm, friendly, family atmosphere. We practice gentle restraint and fear free techniques which reduce the clients, patients and staff stress. All of our veterinarians and veterinarian technicians are Fear Free certified, and we are also a Cat Friendly practice.

We offer a great work/life balance with no weekends, a 4-day work week, appointments done by 6 pm and no after hour emergencies!

About the role:

The Managing Veterinarian is responsible for providing medical leadership for the hospital, managing associate veterinarians, and assuring regulatory compliance relating to the practice of veterinary medicine.  The Managing Veterinarian is also responsible for creating an environment of teamwork in which quality medicine is delivered.

In partnership with the Hospital Manager, the Managing Veterinarian is responsible for the financial performance of the hospital, preparing operating and capital budgets, and meeting budget expectations. In addition, the Hospital Manager and Managing Veterinarian are responsible for directing staff and the overall management of the practice, under the direction of NVA Divisional Leadership.

Skills and Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be a graduate from an AVMA accredited college or have successfully passed the ECFVG certification program or the PAVE certification program 
  • Licensure in good standing to practice in the state in which the applicant is to be employed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
  • The ability to delegate responsibility and achieve results with hospital team members
  • Capable of quality decision making
  • The ability to coach, correct, develop, and motivate employees
  • Demonstrates excellent time and task management
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation with staff and clients
