Job Description

Swan Creek Veterinary Clinic is looking to grow our successful practice with the addition of a Managing Veterinarian.


As our Managing Veterinarian, you will be responsible for providing medical leadership for a team of collaborative veterinarians and crafting an environment that fosters teamwork and quality medicine. You will also partner with the Hospital Manager to ensure the success and growth of the hospital and work with divisional leadership to accomplish hospital goals.


Duties at a glance include coordinating cases to ensure positive outcomes. Providing excellent client communication. Helping to establish protocols and leading staff members in education and performance.


This position is both clinical and administrative. Administrative duties average about 5 hours per week. You'll be meeting with your manager weekly and likely with other staff monthly. You'll be provided with management training for the first 6 months and meet virtually with operational leaders. A perk of this role is that you'll get to attend an on-site meeting with all Managing Veterinarians and all Hospital Managers from our division which involves both educational and leisure activities.


Swan Creek Veterinary Clinic opened in 2007 and has since experienced tremendous success. Currently we are comprised of 2 FT and 2 PT Veterinarians. Our hospital may be smaller in size, but our strength and positive energy allows us to provide the best care for our clients.

The Area

Historic Havre de Grace is located on the Susquehanna River at the top of Chesapeake Bay in Harford County, MD. Lots of recreational opportunities abound for you outdoor lovers! We are 45 minutes from Downtown Baltimore and the many dining and sports entertainment options are available. In addition, we are about 90 minutes from the culture and shopping hubs of Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. The beaches of Rehoboth, DE, and Ocean City, MD are under 3 hours away for you beach lovers!


Qualifications

Candidate must be a graduate from an AVMA accredited college or have successfully passed the ECFVG certification program or the PAVE certification program, have a License to practice veterinary medicine in Maryland, and DEA license.
