About Care Center Dayton

Care Center Dayton is a specialty and emergency hospital located in Ohio’s Miami Valley, just an hour north of Cincinnati and west of Columbus. We are a close-knit, dedicated team focused on high-quality care and a positive, supportive work culture.

Though smaller than our sister hospital in Cincinnati, our Dayton location operates independently with the agility and camaraderie of a close community. We’re looking for a leader who’s energized by the opportunity to guide, build, and inspire.

The Opportunity

As Medical Director, you’ll lead our ER team and specialists in a collaborative environment. You’ll balance clinical shifts with leadership responsibilities—offering mentorship, upholding medical excellence, and helping to shape hospital growth.

We’re excited to welcome a trailblazer: someone who enjoys building strong teams, fostering a positive culture, and embracing opportunities to innovate and grow.

What You’ll Bring

  • DVM or equivalent degree, with Ohio veterinary license (or eligibility)
  • Emergency medicine background
  • 3–5+ years of leadership or mentoring experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and inspire a diverse team
  • Confidence overseeing a team that includes specialists

Nice-to-Haves

  • Leadership coursework or certifications
  • Experience building or shaping medical teams
  • A collaborative spirit and proactive mindset

What We Offer

  • Total annual compensation of $175,000–$200,000, which includes base salary plus a leadership stipend
  • Additional production pay on top of base compensation
  • Long-term incentive program to reward your leadership and impact
  • Sign-on and relocation bonuses available
  • A collaborative, inclusive team culture that values your voice
  • Strong work-life balance to support your well-being
  • Access to a national network of peers and specialists through Ethos Veterinary Health
  • Opportunities to participate in leadership development programs, clinical research, and clinical trials
  • Support from Ethos’ national medical team, including ongoing mentorship and collaboration
  • The ability to help shape the future of your hospital with the backing of a supportive and forward-thinking network
