Lathrop Veterinary Center in Lathrop, CA is seeking a Medical Director to join our practice. 


$100k Sign-on Bonus Package, 4 week sabbatical, Equity Buy-In Opportunity 


Lathrop Veterinary Center is the first vet hospital in the city of Lathrop, CA. Our state-of-the-art facility was built in 2008, houses modern equipment, and has amazing staff and Doctors. Lathrop is currently a growing community, evident by the large new pet-friendly apartment building recently built next door. What does the perfect fit for our team look like?

  • Experienced Doctor seeking to lead a practice with a strong and supportive team approach. 

About our hospital:

  • Small animal GP/UC hybrid, fast paced
  • Currently a 1 Doctor practice, but we'd ideally be at 2-3 due to growing population
  • roughly 70% dogs, 30% cats; some exotics/pocket pets (not required if you don’t want to)
  • Scheduling focused on a healthy work life balance:
    • NO weekends, NO on-call hours. 
    • 4 weeks vacation (for full-time Doctors) in addition to holidays & CE days
    • 4 weeks PAID sabbatical (for full-time Doctors) for every 5 years of service
    • No late nights – Doctors usually arrive around 8am and leave by 6pm
    • We’re closed from 12-1:30pm for lunch & catch-up
    • Flexible appointment times depending on your preference & comfort level
  • Diverse surgeries – lots of soft tissue (but we refer out things like ortho)
  • Comprehensive and up to date facility:
    • 5 total exam rooms (includes 1 comfort room for euthanasia)
    • 1 surgical suite
    • Dentistry table, 3 treatment tables
    • Digital dental and Radiology
    • Ultrasound
    • Capability for oxygen cages
    • Full boarding facility – cats & dogs
    • Annual CapEx dollars allocated for hardware and equipment. Talk to us about what you'd like to have!
  • Full spectrum of clientele:  lots of fully compliant clients, & some folks who keep their pets outside
  • Unified, amazing support staff 
  • Scrubs provided
  • Altruistic – we work with kitten rescues, Guide Dogs, Sheriff K9s, Pets & Pals, etc.

Compensation/Additional Benefits

  • Very competitive Pro-Sal comp, $150k-$200k base salary, leadership bonus structure; complete benefits.
  • Professional dues/licensing expenses and CE allowance. 
  • Medical, Dental, Vision and 401k with an employer match. 
  • 4 weeks vacation time as mentioned above with ability to receive an addition 4 week paid sabbatical for all full-time doctors. 

Who we are looking for:
  • Candidate must be a graduate from an AVMA accredited college or have successfully passed the ECFVG certification program or the PAVE certification program 
  • Licensure in good standing
