Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and oversight of our veterinary practice. The ideal candidate will embody our philosophy of treating each pet as if they were our own, while driving medical excellence and team development. This role requires someone who appreciates both traditional and holistic approaches to veterinary medicine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction for the clinic's medical protocols and standards of care
  • Lead and mentor our team of veterinary professionals, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality veterinary care across all services, including integration with holistic treatment modalities
  • Maintain and enhance clinical protocols and best practices
  • Participate in direct patient care while overseeing overall medical operations
  • Drive continuous improvement in medical quality and client service
  • Collaborate with practice management on business operations and growth initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with veterinary regulations and safety standards
  • Support the development and implementation of new services and technologies
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients and the local veterinary community
  • Foster collaboration between conventional and holistic treatment approaches

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Current California veterinary license in good standing
  • Minimum of 5 years clinical experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Strong surgical and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development experience
  • Commitment to continuing education and staying current with veterinary advances
  • Experience with practice management software and digital medical records
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Interest in or experience with integrative veterinary medicine preferred
