Job Description

Oakwood Animal Hospital is seeking a Medical Director/Managing Veterinarian to lead our small animal practice in Tallahassee, FL.  Our three-doctor practice has all you need to practice the best medicine - our hospital is equipped with in-house labs, digital dental and survey radiography, new surgical monitoring equipment and warming units to name a few.  


Oakwood Animal Hospital is a supportive environment for our doctors. We support your clinical interests and welcome adding new therapies, new medications, and new equipment to stay current. We have a dedicated, tenured, and skilled support staff of technicians and receptionists that allow you to be the doctor. Our ideal candidate is an experienced Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD or equivalent) with a passion for mentoring, a servant leadership style, and collaborative approach.  We offer high quality medicine and are the standard of care in our area.  We are seeking a candidate interested in being a leader in veterinary medicine and committed to continuing to progress the hospital.


Here’s how you will make an impact:

  • Provide excellent GP care, including surgeries, and build strong client relationships
  • Partner with Hospital Manager to manage hospital operations, budget, production, and growth.
  • Lead progressive hospitals projects such as advancing documentation, equipment, services and medical protocols.
  • Communicate with the team through leading meetings, mentorship, and one-on-one meetings
  • Provide ongoing mentorship and clinical guidance to doctors and staff
