Central Animal Hospital, located on Pinellas Point, has proudly served the southern St. Petersburg community since 2006. With over 15 years of dedicated service, we offer a range of in-house services including wellness and preventive care, dentistry, surgery (including radio cautery and laser), cryosurgery, an in-house pharmacy, diagnostics, integrative medicine and nutrition, and acupuncture.

About Our Hospital:

  • Work Schedule: Enjoy a 4-day work week (Monday-Friday, 8 AM – 6 PM) with a one-hour lunch break and weekends off!
  • Surgical Services: We perform surgeries two days a week, including dental procedures, spays/neuters, growth removals, soft tissue surgeries, and laceration repairs.
  • Appointments: 30-minute appointment slots.
  • Advanced Technology: Equipped with top-of-the-line technology including digital and dental radiology, ultrasound, X-ray machines, surgical lasers, radio cautery, and harmonic scalpels.
  • Integrative Medicine: We offer acupuncture, herbal medicine, laser therapy, and nutritional consultations.
  • Lab Equipment: Abaxis lab equipment for accurate diagnostics.
  • Skilled Team: Our talented technicians are well-utilized, handling anesthetics, bloodwork, X-rays, and recovery.
  • Diverse Caseload: Work with a fantastic established clientele and gain valuable experience.

Responsibilities: The Medical Director will provide medical leadership for the hospital, oversee associate veterinarians, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will foster a collaborative environment that promotes high-quality care.


In partnership with the Hospital Manager, you will also be responsible for the hospital's financial performance, including preparing operating and capital budgets, and meeting budget expectations. Together, you will direct staff and manage the overall practice under the guidance of NVA Divisional Leadership.

Compensation: 

  • Starting base salary of $140K - $170K depending on experience plus 24% production on services.
  • This position is eligible for production-based bonuses
  •  Up to $25K in bonuses comprised of sign-on, retention, and relocation assistance
