Job Description
Long Island Veterinary Specialists (LIVS) is seeking a Medical Director to help lead our talented and growing team of specialists.
LIVS is a renovated 30,000 square foot, AAHA accredited, 24-hour referral and emergency hospital located in Long Island, NY. We house a team of 150 caring professionals in a variety of disciplines including Cardiology, Critical Care, Integrative Medicine, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Ophthalmology, and Surgery.

The Medical Director's primary responsibility is to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compassionate, and comprehensive veterinary care to our patients, while maintaining a positive, professional, and supportive work environment for the veterinary team. You will be responsible for upholding the mission, vision, and values of the organization within the hospital. Medical Directors work in close partnership with the Hospital Director to ensure the hospital’s success by acting as a medical subject matter expert, overseeing the entire medical team, and driving operational excellence.
This position will consist of 25% Administrative duties and 75% primary clinical duties.
