Job Description

Strawbridge Animal Care, located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Director to lead our veterinary practice while fostering a positive and supportive workplace culture. The ideal candidate will combine clinical expertise with strong leadership skills to inspire a team committed to exceptional animal care and client service.

**$150K-200K Salary (varies based on Experience/Qualifications)

**5 years Vet Experience required; Medical Director experience preferred (but not required)

**Located in the heart of Virginia Beach, only 20 minutes from Sandbridge Beach!

Key Responsibilities: 

  • **Leadership and Team Management**
  • Oversee daily operations of the veterinary practice, ensuring a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Mentor and support veterinarians and staff, promoting professional development and job satisfaction.
  • Foster open communication and encourage feedback to enhance team morale and cohesion.
 
 **Clinical Responsibilities**
  •   - Provide high-quality veterinary care, including diagnostics, treatments, and surgeries.
  •   - Ensure compliance with veterinary standards, regulations, and ethical practices.
  •   - Support a culture of collaboration within the veterinary team professionals.
  •   - Stay updated on the latest veterinary practices and advancements.
 
**Culture and Environment**
  • Champion a positive workplace culture by promoting teamwork, respect, and inclusivity.
  • Partner with management team to organize team-building activities and staff appreciation events to strengthen relationships and enhance employee engagement.
  • Partner with management team to implement policies and practices that prioritize employee well-being and work-life balance.
 
**Client Relations**
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.
  • Lead efforts in client education and communication to enhance their understanding of animal health and wellness.
  • Handle difficult situations with empathy and professionalism to resolve conflicts and improve client satisfaction.
 
**Financial Management**
  • Collaborate with management to develop and monitor budgets, ensuring financial health of the practice.
  • Analyze financial performance and implement strategies for growth and efficiency.
 
**Qualifications**
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid veterinary license to practice in the state.
  • Minimum of 5 years of veterinary experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to foster a positive work environment.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
