Seven Bends Animal Hospital, located in Woodstock, Virginia, is actively seeking a Medical Director to join our team!

 

** NO weekend, overnight, or on-call shifts required

Medical Director Leadership Qualities:

The Medical Director will continue practicing medicine, maintaining appointment days and at least one dedicated surgical day each week. Our ideal candidate will cultivate a positive, supportive environment that promotes learning and collaboration across the team. We are looking for someone who inspires teamwork and leads by example. A passion for delivering high-quality medical care, educating clients, and providing exceptional service to our loyal clientele is essential.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Oversee and develop the surgical and medical direction of the practice, ensuring that standards of care and best practices are consistently followed by the medical team.

·         Provide leadership in maintaining medical standards, ensuring high-quality care, and managing inventory effectively.

·         Participate in the recruitment and interview process for doctors and, when appropriate, other staff members.

·         Demonstrate a passion for mentoring Associate Veterinarians, including supporting and guiding new graduates.

·         Monitor doctor performance and productivity, providing feedback and support as needed.

·         Ensure all medical staff receive appropriate and ongoing training.

·         Collaborate with the Hospital Manager to support and implement staff training programs.

 

Qualifications:

·         Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from an accredited university

·         Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of Virginia or ability to acquire one

·         DEA License
